Headlight removal WITHOUT bumper removal instructions
Hey guys. After reading a few threads on how to remove the headlights everyone said the bumper had to be removed. So I started to remove mine only to find that in the accident I had things were shifted and I couldn't get some bolts out.
After much frustration I finally figured out how to get the headlights out without removing the bumper. Here's how. Remove the corner light first. Push the upper adjust out about 1/2 way (long screw in white mount). Then with a screw driver there is a ball joint-like connection at the bottom. Get in there with a screwdriver as close to the joint as possible and yank up to pop it out. Then remove the phillips head adjustment screw completely. The whole thing should be loose now. Here's the hard part. There is a bolt with a spring on it. This bolt is in a slotted hole. What you need to do is force the bolt head to the left (for passenger side headlight or right for the driver side lighT) till it gets to the wider part of the slot and them pull the headlight out. This is a PITA and requires two people but after you get the first one out the second is much easier. At this point the headlight pops right out. Hope this helps guys ![]() |
