Interior lighting fade-out

I was riding with a friend of mine last night in her montero and i noticed that her interior lights fade out whenever the doors shut, and I was wondering if I could change a few wires around in mine to make the dome lights do that

I noticed that the light in the driver side footpanel fades out when the door is shut, and I figured I could hack into that wiring and do it somehow, but I wanted to maintain full usage of the dome lights and simply modify the switch point that makes the lights come on when the doors are open

can anyone think of an easy way for this to be accomplished?

The "entry light timer" circuit wiring is shown on page 4 of the fold-out electrical circuit wiring schematics in the back of my 1989 Sedan Acura Service Manual. I assume they might be the same on your car. Or, you can check the UK Honda online manual here: http://www.honda.co.uk/owner/LegendCoupe/. Click on "full manual" ...then on "Electrical" ...then under "lights, interior" click on "entry light timer".

I won't be in your Haynes manual ....they never go into that level of detail. Its plain and simple ...and easy to find on the UK Honda weblink I provided ...just follow the simple instructions in my earlier reply.

ah, i had clicked supplements - 1988 legend

my fault

and after looking, it doesn't say where the dome and map light electrical wires are ran, so I guess i'd have to trace them myself.. that is where its hard

i need to find where the map and dome light electrical inputs come from, hopefully they go to the fuse box
