interior lighting issues..
I noticed the other day that the lights under the dashboard and the light around the ignition were lit up all day long. does anyone know why this is happening? I yanked out the fuse for it so that it wouldn't drain my battery. and my antenna won't come up either. it doesn't even make a sound like it's trying to come up or go down. tsk tsk. I tell ya.. I've got issues with the car and I don't even know what the heck I'm doing. Thanks for any suggestions you may or may not have!

sounds like you switch to turn on the headlights is broken. mine is broken in the way that when the headlamps are on, the dash lights are not, but you could be experiencing a constant on. solution, get a new switch (look on ebay, i have seen a couple lately).
for the antenna, have you checked the fuses and the plug into the antenna in the trunk. open the trunk and pull the carpet next to the antenna away and then see if it is plugged in. i unplugged mine because it was making a grinding and the antenna on the backwindow was giving me plenty good reception. |

Ok, Ikeray didn't read your post very well or he is in his Mr. X mode!
![]() The courtesy lights and key cylinder lights are probably staying on because you may have a bad switch in the driver's side door handle. Those light should only come on when you lift the door handle and shut off momentarily after starting the car. So I would check the switch on your driver's side outside door handle.

I'm not sure if the dome light stays on or not due to the fact that I'm almost completely sure it's burnt out.. or that I'm blind. One or the other. How would I go about checking the switch on the outside door handle? Ahh, it would probably help if I mentioned that the lock is broke on the driver's side door.. so I have to unlock the passenger's side door and unlock it all from there. Gosh, I love having white trash problems with my car. No offense to those of you out there that consider yourself white trash. ;] I just got my transmission rebuilt so I'm kind of anxious to get every other broken thing on it fixed.

To check your dome lights, you just need to put both your dome lights in the center position, this is where they are at so that they go on when the door opens. There are two (one at the front of the car, by windshield, and the other behind the front passengers in the center), so the chances of both of them being out is less. But I'm guessing they won't be on when your other interior lights are on, unless you move them to the always on position.
