Interior Lights
I have a 1989 Acura Legend Sedan. Great car by the way!
Anyway I was wondering if anyone has ever changed out the interior lights. I want to put white LED's in the dome, map and courtesy lights. There's one bulb for the domelight, 3 for the maplights, and 4 courtesy lights. Anyway the domelight is no problem. I originally thought that the bulb was 36mm but I measured it and it's 31mm. So I'm going to put this bulb into the domelight: But the maplights and courtesy lights might be a problem. They measure a little under 31mm and the width is much skinnier than the dome lights. The width is about 7-8 mm wide and I don't think the brackets can hold anything wider than the original bulbs. In addition, the two personal maplights (left and right) that are controlled by the switches are so close the edge of the wall that a wider bulb wouldn't be able to fit anyway. Has anyone ever had a problem with replacing the maplights/courtesy lights? IF anyone knows a place where I can get these types of LED festoons for the map/courtesy light in an 89 Legend sedan, I'd be very grateful |

what type is best, are the ones with the white squares with
the little yellow spots really much brighter? have the 9 led bulb in the back overhead ( white ) , the 4 led bulb ( cool white ) in the front over head and map lights and the ones i first ordered that were too big, fit in the doors, those were white it ended up looking like a burnt out florescent light without the flickering. ( a bluish haze ) and all i was after was a "pure" white without the OE yellowish tint 3022 are the ones that fit for me... domes, map and im guessing is the correct size for the doors. the rear overhead was the only place i could fit the 9 LED due to its width the 4 led bulbs fit into the other spots just fine.

since were on lights. none of my lights work when i open my doors. exept for the passanger rear door. all the lights work just don't come on when opening the doors. I replaced the little switches in the door jam for the driver and front passanger doors. and yes i have the dome lights switched to "door" mode. any thoughts.
My first thought was the vipor alarm(that came with the car)I have disconnected cause no remote for it. but then why would only the passanger rear door work.

I replaced all my interior lights. It looks a lot better than the OEM. Plus the LED doesn't heat up.

i guess what i'm trying to explain is that the brackets for the domelight and the maplights are completely different. Anybody who owns a 1989 Acura Legend knows what I'm talking about. For the domelight, it does not matter how wide the bulbs are, it only matters about the length. It's easy to find a 31mm festoon bulb for my car. I already bought a 6 LED light for mine. BUT the maplight have a completely different set up. The maplights are set up so that no bulb that is thicker than 6-7mm wide can fit in the brackets. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm finding it difficult to find festoons that fit this criteria. Anybody have any advice for me??
