K&N filters

I just noticed that a few AAutopart stores sell K&N air filters for the G1 Legends, has anyone tried these?

Part Number: E-0999

The pic is from AutoZone.

Yeah some people on here have used them...my own personal thing though is that K&N filters tend to filter a little bit less efficiently than paper...not my much, but when they are not cleaned often, or they are over oiled when they are cleaned...they can end up doing more harm than good...the increase in air flow isnt really all that much when considering the possible ill effects that could occur...

Even on my wife's intake on the Infiniti I used a quality paper filter...if only for peace of mind, and its still got a super nice growl at WOT....

Thumbs up K&N filters

I've used K&N air filters in all of my cars with no Ill effects!!! If you follow the instructions carefully you will NEVER have a problem!!! ( See: Post your personal car history ). As for when it gets tossed. It has a 1,000,000 mile writen warranty!!! Just clean it and reoil it and put it back in. I own 2 per car so that when I clean one, I already have a clean one to put into the car so I don't have to wait for it to dry before I reoil it!! ( Just use the filter Charger/Cleaner Kit )

I've also used the K&N for my last couple of vehicles (including my current Legend), and havn't witnessed any issues with the oil. Just don't over do the re-oiling process when you clean it, consistant coating is best.

Thumbs down A Little Thought Will Go A Long Way

Any additional oil added to the intake path is not good long term.

Neither is a hot underhood air intake, especially in the summer.

I have 'em in all my vehicles and been using it for some time now... just follow the manufacturers cleaning procedures, you'll be just fine!

Thanx for the responces. I used the K&N in my maxima back in the day. I liked the (thought) pick up it gave me. It also saved me on alittle gas. I was getting 375 miles on one tank. City driving daily. 86 Maxima 5 speed.
