I just check oil pressure on my 87 coupe and they read 15 PSI at idle and 65 PSI at 3000 RPM which are too low. My question is Will changing the oil pum alone cures this? ( the engine has no knocks) Anyone has the same problem and how did you guys fix it? Thanks.

my book shows 20psi min at idle, and 71psi min at 3000, so it's not TOO far off, but according to the specs, it should be replaced.
I havn't done it myself so, I'll defer to anyone who can comment.

I'd check the pressure using another gauge before tearing into the engine to replace the pump. I'd also ask for the specs on the gauge being used. Due to the gauge's accuracy, you might still be in the ballpark.
