You are correct......when I was restoring my '90LS in 2004 this was the only indash CD player I could find. It's for a '92LS Legend and it's plug and play even though it's for a G2 Legend.

The CD player for the '89LS I found this past summer.

Here's my next project:

Oh sweet man! What did the 6 disc changer come out of? A G2 Legend?

Also, would the G2's Bose (non Premium...it has 8 memory buttons) work in a G1 with Bose? My mom's 94 has this HU and the 6 disc changer in the trunk and the HU controls the changer no problem (no need for a DIN sized separate unit) just curious since my Legend DOESNT EVEN have Bose lol....

The one in the pic is the very rare in dash CD Changer option offered for the G1 Legend ( 08A06-102-410 ). I found it on Ebay last year.

I don't think a G2 w/Bose will work in a G1 w/Bose because in the G1 the speakers are amped.....in the G2's the headunits are amped ( the amp is in the back of the driver's seat I think ) and therefor they're not compatible.

Too lazy to edit: Thanks for the answer John, I figured that since the G1's and G2's use the same radio harness...that maybe (lol JUST maybe) the wiring that sends power to the amp in the G2 would also be the same that powers the G1's amps regardless of how many different amps there are or where they are located (hope that makes sense)...

as Sam says.....each speaker in the G1 Bose system has an amp...the head unit does not.

It does.....I still don't think it'll work. If you know your speakers are working properly ( in a G1 Bose system )..and you can get a G2 head unit for fairly cheap... I guess it's worth a shot. I do know that when I bought my '89LS this past summer..that the previous owner had taken out the Bose unit and had a Kenwood installed. In order for the rear speakers to work....the installer cut the plug wires for the speakers to bypass the amp in order to send a signal directly to the speaker. Amazingly enough......the front speakers were not touched. When I did my reverse of this...to restore it to stock.....I sent the speaker/amps back to Bose where they were repaired and had my dealer resolder the wires at the plug ends. Everything now works perfectly ! The plug ends at the radio end were luckily for me....not cut up. The installer created a wiring harness to connect the Kenwood to the Acura wiring harness.

That is so awesome! I've heard about that G1 changer, but I thought it was just controlled with the stock HU. I didn't know it had a separate control unit. Good find, and good pics.

Send them back to Bose automotive in Massachusetts. I've done so on the 2 Coupes I've restored and the systems sound awesome. They replace both the cones and amps when they " repair " a speaker. If you need the contact info PM me and I'll get the info for you.
