my day at the junkyard

hey guys, as some of you may know, my sunroof is whacked out.

anyways, i got a new one on sunday at the junkyard. stole it out of this 88 legend

it was a nice car, been there for a few days, had like 160000 miles, which made me sad. anyways, i started taking stuff off, bent the liner in half, and exposed the sunroof,

and with some 10mm bolts, it was out and leaning against the sentra next door

then we looked around to see if we could butcher anything else out of legends, and i came upon this one, and died a little inside

it was pretty stripped, and was about to have a 200,000 party. oh well. anyways, the sunroof cost me 30 bucks, and it works just fine. just got to fix some corrosion in the rear drains. ill update when i get it in (in the next few weeks)

discuss.

good find, I swear none of the junkyards in my area have Legends period. One time I came across a GS but it had hit a ditch doing over 100mph according to the man working at thhe salvage yard. There wasn't one thing that went unscathed.

lol, i already got a PM asking about it.

it was scratched up, but it looked okay, if the interior wasnt tan, it would look better. but it had the trim everywhere, on the cluster, around the mirror adjuster, crap like that. dad commented and said how he hated putting those on for people. (honda/acura mechanic)

and as for the sunroof, about 2 hours or so to take the old one out, new one in, and adjust it. i just cant bend the liner in half to take it out. but ill take the seat out to install it.

and its snowball!

read my post. . .
For what it's worth, I replaced the sunroof in my coupe a couple of years ago. I don't remember the specifics, but it was very straightforward and I didn't have to touch the liner at all. Good luck....

Gotcha; I see from the first pic you posted. I'm sure there's an interesting story behind that - it looks like it was done from the inside. Anyway, good luck with the replacement......
