New here. A question about models.

Hi, I just joined here since this is the best forum I have found about
Legends. I bought a Honda Legend V6 2.7 a few months ago. Im not
quite sure how the models go but the papers I got with my car say its
a -92 model. What I have seen tho, my car looks more like the -89 model
and am I right saying that only 1G has 2.7 motors? My car is European
model so its Honda, not Acura. No difference than the name as I know?

Anyways, nice to join this great community. I'll hope to get working
on my Legend soon and will prolly ask alot of questions since im a
newbie with fixing cars etc.

Is that the car in your avatar? Looks like a G1 sedan yeah..should say on a sticker on the pillar if you open the driver door...should say when it was manufactured...or you can type in the vin# at a site like carfax.com and find out...or post some pics here and us members will be able to tell you for sure...but it looks like a G1 sedan to me.

Gotta inspect the matter after I get home from work.
Wonder why the registry papers say -92...

Dunno. Maybe the previous owner could sell it for more if he had it listed/reg'd as a G2 instead of a g1? Or maybe just an error.

Welcome to the forums!

Yes, you have a G1. It may be listed as a -92 as a mistake... or maybe it was manufactured late. I think there was some discussion of G1 Legends being sold new until '92 or something like that. By all means, still a G1.

The EDM version differs from the USDM Legend in several ways...
You have clear corner lights and headlight wipers. You may also have reverse fog lights on your rear bumper. Those are the only differences I can think of besides the badges. However the engine is the same--C27A1--as is basically everything else I'd imagine.

I forgot one thing--you guys have side markers!

Car seems to be in great condition though.
Side mirrors are body-matched so it's either an 89 or a 90.

Welcome to the forum. As to the engines, you're right in that the 2.7 is only found in the G1. In addition, 86 and 87 sedans had a 2.5L, at least in the USDM. The 2.5 and 2.7 engines look very similar, but there are some differences so be careful if you find yourself dealing in used parts. For instance, I have an 87 coupe with the 2.7 and once bought a used a/c compressor that came off of an 87 Legend. Unbeknownst to me, it came off of a sedan with the 2.5 engine and did not fit my 2.7.....
