Arrow Noisey Lifter FIX!

I have been searching for a sure way to calm down noisey G1 lifters since I have allot of friends buying G1's with 150-200k on them and are noisey as hell, Here are my findings :

Lighter 5w30 motor oil (noise when cold improved but was still evident, noise still there when warmed up

Synthedic Motor Oil (noise when cold drastically improved but noise was still there at low rpms/idle when warmed up)

Auto-RX Treatments (1 treatment showed little to no improvement, after 2nd treatment noise calmed down some for awhile but comes back off and on, Auto-RX did however clean the despoits in the engine)

Lucus Oil Stailizer (Noise got worse when cold, but stayed the same once warmed up)

Power Punch (Allmost same results as Lucus)

Now as you can see all the additives were basically band-aid's that didnt completly fix the problem. Now for the good part :

Friction Free 3000 (Noise completly gone when cold, silent when warmed up!)

I stumbled accross this kickass product when surfing the web, there was a tech. that was responding to a G1 Legend owner about his Noisey lifters, the Tech replied saying "I allways used a product called FF3k, and never had 1 legend come back after using it" This was enough to convince me to buy the product and try it, finding it proved to be difficult, but I managed to find a company selling the product.

I'm now using it in my G1 since I had some lifter noise when cold that quieted down after warmup but was still evident if you listened closly. I have 130k on my engine and have tried just about everything to fix the problem to no avail until FF3k. I did a fresh oil change using Castrol 10w30 and a NSX Filter (as usual) Then I added 1 bottle of Friction Free 3000 to the oil and after about 50miles I started to notice improvments! The engine just kept getting smoother and quieter the more I drove it. I'm now 1500miles into the additive and I have NO LIFTER NOISE AT ALL!!!! Even when its 30F outside in the morning (my car sits outside all night) The lifters dont get noisey on cold start up! I have also noticed Improved gas mileage, better engine accelleration and response, another thing I noticed is it takes a bit longer for the engine to get up to full operating temperature which means friction has been reduced!

This product claims the following :

1. Improved Gas Mileage
2. Elliminates Dry-Starts
3. Reduces Friction
4. Improved Engine Power
5. Reduced Emissions
7. Reduce Engine Surface Wear
8. Reduced Oil Consumption

Here's a link to show you how it works :

http://www.antismog.info/products/FrictionFree3000/

Special Care must be taken when doing this treatment, make sure to do it like this :

1. Change Oil and Filter (USE NSX FILTER OR REGULAR GENUINE HONDA FILTER)
2. Warm Engine up to operating temperature
3. Shut engine OFF
4. Put 8oz of FF3k into the Engine OIL
5. Immediatly Restart Engine
6. Drive for atleast 10mins

Here's a video with sound of a cold start (40F outside) after added FF3k :

http://www.purehardware.com/legend/v...kcoldstart.MOV

Below is the website where you can get some:

http://www.marketamerica.com/maIndex...utomotiveStore

MAKE SURE YOU GUYS ORDER THE 8OZ BOTTLE NOT THE 12OZ ARISOL CAN

I highly recommend ALL LEGEND owners to Use This Product!!!!

Steve that sounds really good. I've used something similar call Restore which works for a couple of thousand clicks then the lifter noise returns. I will give this a try but your links aren't working for me. The Restore is expensive stuff how much is the 3000?

Try the link now, I updated it, navigate through the site searching in the AUTO catagory for Friction FREE 3000, then make sure you select 8oz Bottle, its like $18 plus shipping.

Also make sure you get the USA or CANADA whichever you like, the products are the same but the shipping method isnt.

I thought the best way to fix a noisy lifter is to replace it. Is there a problem replacing lifters on these engines ?

u have to do it after each oil change tho.. its like an expensive bottle of restore (except it works better).. :-/

i think when the temps get warmer my ticking will be near a bare minimum.. i have ran 2 treatments of auto-rx and i'm going to switch to german castrol 0w-30.. right now i am running 10w30 havoline for my auto-rx treatment and i have slight ticking while warming up and almost none when warm

One thing that many people don't know is that there are real friction reducing compounds that do in fact work. However, the nasty side is that when they break down, they turn into acids and you begin getting pitting on your bearing surfaces and that's really bad. With heat and time, all compounds break down. What I wonder about is whether these particles serve to reduce friction as claimed or are really there to "fill" the pitting that comes from breakdown of the compounds.

The other aspect that bothered me a bit about the product is that it uses "Slick 50" and that friction test for claims. Uh, Oh I said to myself. Is that their targeted customer base?

We know that the oil passages in the C25/27 are already pretty small, I'm not sure that this product won't begin to contribute to a "cholesterol buildup" in those passages.

I am not flaming this product but I remain cautious until someone shows that long term, there is no damage to the engine as it begins to break dow and that there is no slow buildup of those "tiny particles" inside passages.

I'll let ya know if my C27 bites the dust anytime soon, as of right now its running better than ever! I still cant beleave how smooth and quiet its running. It feels like it has 30,000miles on it
