Rear sway bar
...Anybody out there put an Addco rear sway bar on their 88 sedan? I've got urethane bushings up front but nothing beats a rear sway bar as far as I've seen for sheer driving enjoyment..!

Yeah we have them....
They just dont look like much.... If you could find one from a Sterling, they have the same mounting points and can seemingly interchange, BUT the Sterling ones are significantly larger diameter.... ![]() |

A Sterling, this is the first I've heard of this. Who's been keeping this bit of news to themselves? Which year and will it fit my '90 sedan?

EDIT: Here ya go man: http://acura-legend.com/vbulletin/sh...rling+sway+bar Upon looking at it, it seems that one may have to search for a Vitesse Sport version (maybe the equivelent to our LS??) |

Sam needs more practice at photography, though. There's entirely too much car in his past efforts.

found Addco sway bar source
I appear to have found a source for the 19mm (3/4") answer to my prayers... Addco rules rear sway bars. all the cars I've put them on ( 64 VW Beetle, 66 VW bus, 89 Civic hatch, 78 Cadillac DeVille ) have turned into monster drivers with that mod alone... they just go wherever you point them and let your seat transmit any side loads without annoying commentary from the body roll beotch.(Full Disclosure: the Civic sway bar was NOT by Addco) Even the VW bus,"Fafner", with the aerodynamics of a Meatloaf, managed to morph into a WW2 Heinkel 111 bomber with fighter-like manuverability and absolute confidence in abrupt or extreme control imputs... |

Addco appears to have 88-90 rear sway bars listed.

since my technical english aint that good.... the swaybar is the bar located just beside (uh.. inside of) the wheel, right? the one that goes underneath the car from wheel to wheel?
sorry about the dumbass question, but people call suspension stuff a million different things, even if they are talking about the same part.

That's right... This bar enables the car to minimize rolling or swaying, which comes to the terms:
Anti-roll bar Anti-sway bar Roll bar or sway bar is also fine because no one wants EXTRA roll. ---- Edit: From hondanews.com In 89-90, sedan's rear sway bar diameter is .47, coupe .59 86-88 year model, sedan is .49 87-88 year model, coupe is .58 Aftermarket (ADDCO) - .75 -> I'm buying it! Addco currently only manufactures a rear bar for the 86-90 Coupe and 89-90 Sedan. Please note the years there...however I have made a trip to Linville, NC to the Addco R&D/Manufacturing facility and they are currently blueprinting/prototyping a bar for me (long story kinda can be found here: 86-88 Sedan Anti-Sway Bars)
I'll update as the project progresses, as I should be getting a package from them by the weekend. ![]()

Soooooo.......our cars already have rear stabilizer bars....but the one's by Addco are better because they're thicker....more heavy duty ??
Do their kits come with new bushings also ?? I have noticed that since I've put on the new tires, control arms, tie rods....etc.....that my '90LS Coupe does have a sway issue. I replaced the rear driver's trailing arm also....I wonder if I need a passenger one also. Or is it something else ??
