Rear view mirror cross compatability??

Here is my question: What rear view mirrors can be swapped/substituted in for the 1989 KA3 Coupe?

The reason that i ask is that my mirror has broken somewhat.
The mirror would not hold its position, no matter which way you pointed it.
When driving it would shake around and in generally cause a distraction.
When i removed it i also noticed a rattling sound.
It also wouldn't flick to the night shade position.

Let me be the first to say that the 89 sedan (KA4?) wont fit, i found one at a wrecker last week end and grabbed it just in case.
Today i pulled them both apart to see if i could fix what was broken or failing that try and swap mechanisms over.
They are totally different.
Even the mounting points and holes are different.

Here let me show you (brown one is from my 89 coupe, beige one is from the wrecked 89 sedan):

Glass is physically different

Found this rattling around inside my mirror

This is where it should go

This is how the mechanism should sit normally

I have tried using a high strength cyanoacrylate glue to 'repair' the broken portion but its curing now so we shall see.

So yeah can any one help me out?
I was thinking maybe some of the Prelude mirrors might fit, the ones that came out at the same time have roughly the same shape and who knows they may be interchangeable.

Can any one help me out?

Cheers

The point where it mounts to the roof is not the same between 89 coupe and sedans annoyingly.
Sedans have 2 holes and coupes have 3.
I tried swapping over the 'bolt patterns' but thats not possible.

I have re-attached it to the car now.
I left the glue to set over night and when i was reassembling the mechanism i noticed that the metal pressure plate should not be tightened all the way down, not only does it apply far too much pressure to the area that actually snapped off, but it has a long screw and a slotted hole in the metal plate for this very reason.

ala this:

So yeah we shall see how it goes, i might still need to check out other cars the nest time i'm at the Honda section in the wreckers.

Cheers

its very common for that part to break.. theres a way you could bend the metal strip and shove it into this little crevice on some of the mirrors.
