Replace cv or axle

My cv boots are torn and have been clicking for about a year. I have finally got a little money and am ready to do something about it should I replace the axle or the cv and does anyone know how hard it is to replace an axle time wise and tools needed?

You have to pull the axle to replace the CV joint, so you might as well replace the whole thing anyway. It'll cost about the same, and with less work just to replace the axle with a "new" rebuilt unit.

I read that most guys prefer buying from www.raxles.com cause of a better quality product. Part of their marketing is that they only use new joints.
I've heard some people say that rebuilt axles only change the outter and not the inner joints. I've also heard people needing to go through several sets of rebuilt axles (like Master Cylinders) before everything was kosher. Only problem with that is either your labor (if you install yourself) or your down time (bringing it back to the shop and leaving your ride there).

replace the whole half shaft.it's about $80 each side and about $100 labor to have them installed.
