stalling and low idle

My 88 coupe has a problem of low idle and sometimes stalling along with hesitation on acceleration. This only happens during the first 2 miles after start up if I come to a stop. I checked the idle light and it was blinking so I adjusted the idle until the light went off. This worked for a few days. After it happened again I checked the idle light and it was blinking. I turned the car off and restarted and the the light went off. Has any one else had this problem?

It's the idle control system, not the idle speed. Are you not getting a Check Engine light as well?
Does ECU show any codes?

I'm starting to get some of that. I think it's the EGR needing some cleaning out. It's too cold out there for me to be playing around with the G1 right now. I'm hoping that it'll hold out till spring.

If you don't have any codes, you might want to check your vacuum hoses to see if any are leaking. Makes a big difference in the way the car runs.

Or, guess it could just be time to tune it up.

Another thing which often occurs this time of year, water condensation in your gas. I run gas treatment a couple times each winter just to blow out whatever water there may be in the tank.
