taurus cupholder and oem fog light switch

I visited my local Pull-A-Part today and snagged a cup/coin holder from an early 90's Taurus.
I also snagged the OEM foglight switch from the only Legend in the entire lot. Unfortunately, someone had already gotten to the front end so the fogs were gone. =[
Spent a total of $5.13

Also, I recently discovered my CV boots are both torn...
How hard are they to replace?
Should I just replace the drive axles instead?

Thanks, guys.

Grats on the cupholder. CV isn't too bad but you have to insert it exactly right into most transmissions otherwise you'll wreck a seal in there and drip tranny fluid till its fixed.

They used to come up much more often then you'd think on eBay. JSDND1980LS clued me in. Do a sear on ACURA LEGEND PARTS. They were fairly inexpensive, too.

Yeah, except I took apart my center console completely onto to figure out the din trim they used when they installed my Alpine head unit covers up the area that I need to put the cupholder and if I remove it the h.u. won't sit in place.... >_< Looks like I need to go get a different one from them.

I guess I'll just have a mechanic do it...
I don't like the idea of ruining my brand new transmission.

Hey, if anyone could point me in the direction of getting some of those OEM fog lights I would really appreciate it... I'm having trouble finding them on eBay. >_<

switchs are sometimes on eBay. For the foglights you have to go to the SAAB site. I'm sure the part# number is mentioned in a thread...or we can ask JSDND for help...lol

How long has your CV boots been broken? Actually, if both are torn, then it may have been a while. I vote just replace the whole axle, you'll have to do so anyway once the CV joints start to click. Axle replacement is not that hard.

I'm not sure, actually...
Yeah, I'll just have the axles replaced I think.

Found the axles for $73.46 apiece here.
Don't really wanna do this myself... I don't have the tools or the experience to be comfortable with it.
Hopefully I can find someone to do the labor for cheap.

If you can go back to that car you got the switch from and get the wiring harness and relay from out of the engine bay. That'll make it a lot easier to install in your car.

go to www.thesaabsite.com under 9000 fog lights. The Bosch kit is an exact match to the one Acura offered as an option. The kit will NOT contain the Acura OEM switch and wiring harness...so if you have a donor car in your area... get those parts out of it.

I felt this way the first time I did mine. It was actually easier than I thought. The hard parts were:

1. Axle nut -- extremely high torque, so you need a massive breaker bar and probably 2 people to get it loose
2. Tie rod separator -- This can be tricky to get off at first, those pullers are a bit hard to use.

Other than that, the job is pretty straightforward

I looked at it and I really didn't wanna try removing it.

Thanks for the advice.
I'll probably just have it done.
