Where can I buy R12 substitute off the shelf in Los Angeles?

Does anyone know where I am able to purchase the R12 substitute refrigerant straight off the store shelves in the Los Angeles area? I don't want to have to purchase off of Ebay, take a chance on possible defective products, and wait the whole time for shipping, so I am thinking that surely a place as large and industrious as L.A. must have some place were I am able to buy the Freeze 12, Hotshot, or Duracool brands of the R12 substitute straight off the store shelves somewhere. Any suggestions on names and address of stores locally that I can go to? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to buy R12 refrigerant, first you need EPA approved 608 or 609 refrigerant certificate.

R12 can only be purchased by AC shops. They can service your AC, but it's expensive.

The system can be converted to 134a, but among other things all the refrigerant oil has to be cleaned out and replaced by a different type of oil that is compatible with 134a.

There were posts on here at one time about how to do the 134a conversion.

You don't have to be certified to get the "alternative" to R12. The Johnson's Freeze12 has worked great for me.
