I was just reading the history of the legend. It says that the manual c27a does 0-60 in under 8 seconds. I was wondering what times your cars do as i measured mine my o-100 km/h which i think is 66 several time when i got the car and my worst time was about 7.1, is this about wat you guys get

Haven't done a properly timed run, but a slight rolling start timed on my watch gives a reading similar to the figures mentioned above. I didn't buy my car thinking it was going to be quick but I tell you what, leave it in second on a twisty stretch of road and it can keep up with an Audi S4 (maybe the guy driving the S4 I was following wasn't a great driver, but I could see him looking at me through his rear view with surprise on his face).

Well, there's your problem, you weren't using a G1. lol

But I know what you mean NZ, the 2nd gear in my G1 has surprised quite a few people, mostly passengers. I wouldn't be surprised if it walked over my GS in this gear.

Not the most accurate but using a stop watch stoped on a flat raoad. usually 1 with a decent surface to get better traction. I got a bit of variance and a big factor seemed to be the temp when i did it at about 1 am on a freezing night i did 3 runs of 6.3 6.3 and 6.5 Not sure wat other way i can time it on a normal temp day i was getting about 6.8 or 6.9 I did a lot of these times when i got the car

Just a touch over 8 seconds (8.1) using my inaccurate method. And I never said an S4 wouldn't smoke a Legend, but on this occasion I was on familiar country roads I grew up driving on and this city slicker in his Audi overtook me on a straight but couldn't pull away on the twisties. He wasn't confident though, always using his brake, etc. Holding it in second gear is the sh*t in a G1, makes it feel a lot faster than a 8 second car.

ps. in no way does this or my preceeding post condone racing... speed limits (to the best of my knowledge) were adhered to.

edit: Muffo 6.3 seconds sounds a bit unbelievable... is your engine modified?

yea...sounds like it...the stop watch method isn't the most accurate...theres no way a car is 2 seconds faster to 60mph when its 20 years old....you would have to have some serious mods done...

my legend will beat my friends 4cylinder malibu by 2 or 3 car lengths to 60mph...the malibu is a high 8sec 0-60 car

against the SER the legend loses by 15 or more car lengths by 60mph...its a high 5sec 0-60 car

My whole aim for this car is to acheive 5 flat when i get the turbo in it. i dont think the c20at has this potential so it might take a couple of years of saving

I tried the bootleg stopwatch method lol, with mine a few times earlier this year. It averaged about 7.3, but like it has been said that's not the most accurate. But niether the engine nor trans are original in mine. Plus my car just plain scares me, not because of it's speed (not the fastest car I've driven) but because it seems to have a mind of it's own,(it can tend to run away with you) if that makes any type of sense.
