i had a look at that flex tubing and i thought: if u could stretch the thing so that all the crinks were straightened out and possibly cut off the excess would that become beneficial? also has anyone tried and tested those electric superchargers?

You remember what my intake tube is like? Well, here's a refresher pic to start with...

Now that I have the SDS in, I can look at my air temperature, like, WHENEVER I WANT. When I was taking it to the gas station the other day, it was 95 deg. F outside. I was driving about 45mph, the engine was fully warm, the radiator fans kicked on, and the a/t never went above 105 deg. F. Before the fans came on, it was staying around 97-101 deg. F. I'm definitely seeing less heat from the radiator than I thought.

The a/t sensor is in the tube, right before the blue 90 deg. elbow at the TB. You can see it in the pic. Just thought I'd share my little experiment.

I've only read the first page, so maybe this was suggested already, but I would like to see these tests redone with the temperature probes situated in these locations:

Hmmm, I only got 1 hose going onto my intake pipe. I didn't know there was a second one. Then again, they keep changing some stuff on the engine on every year model.

Yeah I wanted to have the probes up stream also, but remember that they were cheapies from Wal*Mart and I was just too scared that the cheapness would catch up with me and theyd get sucked into the TB

Lol like I said...very unscientific....I really just wanted to measure engine compartment vs fender well temps...I really dont know how much the air temp would change by the time it got to the TB....but I will see if i can find a probe-style that doesnt leave me feeling so nervous....or I could throw a screen over the TB too I guess...

quick question, i noticed everybody's CAI or SRS has a little hose conencted to it, is that the same line thats on the stock tubing connected to the back of the engine block? and if it is did most of you guys just drill a hole in the new tubing (if it was home made) and you a rubber grommet to seal it up? don't know much as you can see so when i throw on a new intake system i don't want to screw up my engine and be left in the middle of the road like the eclipse guys going "dads gonna be pissed!"
