Those guys are great. They'll ask how long you need your harness from the engine to ECU, I got 6 feet. That's enough to put it in the original spot, but I'm putting it in the glovebox, since I'm raising that area of the floor to make room for the turbo.
(I'm assuming your ECU is in the passenger forward kick-panel also)

Yeah, just get however long you think you need. Measure from ECU to where the injector harness starts. And over here, it's legal as long at it can pass a pailpipe sniff in the emissions test.

The SDS uses an O2 sensor for a/f metering, but it DOES use it for a closed loop mode if your in that mode. That way you can still get fuel mileage out of it.
Here is a pic of the harness. The one on top is for the injectors and other output relays, etc. The bottom one is the sensor harness. Each one will be in the length you specify.

Also, just to clarify to everyone my previous statement about emissions: Any OBD1 car that can pass a tailpipe sniff IN MY STATE AND COUNTY is street legal as far as emisions is concerned. If they have to plug in to an OBD2 diagnostics port to test your emmisions, then your car won't pass with SDS installed.

Good heavens, I had no idea they were so stringent in AU, what with all the HSVs and Skylines running around! So is it just the drivetrain that's supposed to be "untunable"? Would you get pulled over for, say, aftermarket wheels also?

No, as i understand it that only refers to the computer. Most other things are ok. You can run a piggy back computer because for some reason it is considered as untunable. the only other one i can think of is aftermarket coilovers are also illegal if your car didnt have a coilover setup from factory. and your car has to be at least 3.5 inches of the ground at the lowest point. Any wheels are fine as long as the dont come out past the fenders. Lots of people still run aftermarket computers you just have to be able to hide it. After that you would be unlucky to get caught. Oh and as a probationary i cant drive high powered vehicles. As of this year people who get there license cant drive anything turbo or anything v8 untill there 21. thats about al our crap laws, oh and if you get caught doing skids or speeding excessivaly you get your car impounded for 2 days the first time, 3 months the second time and the 3rd time they sell your car. I have 1 impound strike.

Do you guys have a noise limit for your exaust and sound systems? My insurance wont change iv already contacted them but i wont inform them of the changes and if i crash they will ony replace items to factory specs. if i change it to the turbo and everything it will cost me around 1200 to 1400 a year just for insurance
