rim material makes a difference?

wanted to get some really good drag rims so I was looking at some Tenzo 17" made of aluminum.

http://www.wheelfire.com/scontent/Wh...2%20DR%20Coupe

question is the alloy better or aluminum racings? I dont know this stuff, someone fill in the blanks for me please. need everyone opinion on the rims, thanks.

aluminum is alloy..

most rims are either aluminum or magnesium.

mag is the lightest

aluminum is the everything else.. there are very good and very bad aluminum rims.. its more about the way they are made.. do a google search of forged vs. cast wheels

and if you don't wanna do that.. 15in stealies make any car look like a race car.. HAHAHAH

Thumbs up rim material makes a difference?

Magnesium was the original race wheel material. Hence "Mag wheels". Aluminum wheels can be either cast or forged. forged wheels are stonger but not nessasarily lighter.Alot more expensive!!! The "New" lighter stronger material is Carbon Fiber!!! I saw quite alot of them at "SEMA" this year!!!

thanks but I also want something that will look nice besides stockies, lol. aside from that I didnt know that 14" can fit our cars, I thought 15" was as small as it gets.

The stock wheels actually aren't that bad. They're lighter than many aftermarket wheels that look racier.

Centerline Wheels makes some decent 6 spoke (RPM) or 15 spoke (I think, Excel) and there is a company that makes crazy wheels. They are magnesium for the centers and the outer rim is carbon fiber. They are from Dymag. Just google it. You would be looking at a pretty penny for those though. The centerline wheels are spun forged aluminum, save weight and are much cheaper. I might get some when I have the money.
