THE CAR THEY DID A WHILE AGO WAS ONLY RUNING 6 TO 8 POUND OF BOOST.THEY DO ALL THE TUNNING, ECU,TURBO KITAND DYNO THE CAR SO YOU NOW WHAT YOUR WORKING WITH.YOU CAN DO ANYTHING IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY,BUT THE TIME AND HEADACHE MY NOT BE WORTH IT.
Couple of questions. Where did you get the LSD? i didnt know they were made. Is it auto or manual? Is it worth putting head studs in when you have stock internals? Is it still $4500 as i think this is way to much money. I also cant see it making 300hp even on big boost. which isnt really acheivable with the open deck layout. the turbo is very small and the intercooler is even smaller with almost no airflow. and just to add to that where it is located i dont think u could do a cold air intake. So far i have spent about $500 on a turbo motor $700 on a stand alone ecu and parts. I will spend $230 on an msd ignition which u dont have to have u can wire it up to your factory system. basicly i have every thing from that kit with upgrades for under 1500. So i think there are better ways around it

has anyone tried an Squires turbo system...it's remote mounted and seems like there would be less headaches about clearance issues...i got the doors blown off of my lightly modified twin turbo z by a 89 c4 corvette running two rear mount turbos.

i've read about a couple of their applications and checked their website, they seem like good alternative to hunting down extra rare turbo engines. they advertise a stage 1 universal kit for 1995, stage 2 2495 and stage 3 2995

if nobody has tried it i'll be the guinea pig around tax time (the only time i have a few extra thousand, and the only time the wife will let me buy big ticket items) with the stage 2 system.

Is that kit for our car. Its basicly just a turbo and pipes all you have to do is work out the plumbing and its not that hard. I think you will find after that you will have to do a stand alone ecu to run it. bare in mind that if the piping is to long you stat to get pressure drop.

it says that the kit is universal...it intrigues me because it's something different...my uncle said he will build me an ecu for FREE and i'll have an exhaust shop help me with the plumbing...i'm hoping for the best

from what i have found on this very same issue (new car is auto) the auto ecu needs a 5V feed from the ecu to allow reading of the sensors (throttle, coolent, road speed), coil signal, and engine fan (high).

i have the rover electrical manual on pdf which covers the auto box.

i know i have the 2.7 but i would assume the 2.0 is almost the same.

So in saying this you think it can be done? i just want a manual but i cant find one and postage would be huge from overseas. If you think it can be can you look into it a bit more. it will be wired the same as the 2.7

Otomoto - KKR560 Turbocharger

Otomoto - KKR480 Turbocharger

Have a look at these turbos and tell me wat u think they would match up like on the 2.7 and would they run on the 2.0. I think the 560 isnt far away from wat i want

i think the 560 would be better for the 2.7, however on the 2.0 you'll get a little lag as it's to large for it, but it would work. a light shot of nos would remove the lag

Im kinda leaning towards the 480 but i think thats my plan cos on the 2 litre i dont think it would come onto boost till around 4500 or a bit after so i would use nos till that point.

i could possibly get you a good deal, but with that good price would come the waiting game.

i'm kinda leaning away from turboing my 2.7 in favor of swapping in a j32a2 w/six speed from the cl type s. i started a new thread since this is the turbo thread.
