One other thing...make sure you replace the water hoses to the oil cooler before putting the new engine in..they are NOT fun to replace in the car.
And yes the oil cooler/filter assembly do need to come off.

Ok heres the update. Got the motor home finally cost me 675 extra not 450. WTF. the seller didnt declare that there was nothing in the motor. On the up side it is in great condition and it has the gearbox to. but it will take a lot of wiring as everything has been cut. EVERYTHING. even engine mounts. I will get some pics on the weekend

So it came with the transmission as well?
Well that's a nice plus... almost makes the extra $675 worth it haha.

You can expect that when getting a JDM engine... often they literally chop any wires running to the engine to get it out as quickly as possible =/

Front covers

If you haven't taken the crank pulley off you will need to. Are you going to replace the timing belt? They aren't real cheap..when i did my mates a little while ago it was about 100 bucks from repco.
I have made some smaller versions of the manual..the engine removal/installation part and timing belt replacement...but can't upload here...over the 100kb limit..but are not real big..both files are only about 400 kb each..any way of me being able to email them to you?

Yeh that would be good I have a complete manual here that is really good with most thing but it just slides off. I have the harmonic balancer off the only thing holding it on is the timing belt tensioner bolt. And yes i am going to do the timing belt. Also it is ment to be written under the timing cover that it is 2 litre cos i have to have proof of this to try and get a partial refund as i purchased it as a 2.7 turbo.

Im not sure about that many of the things i need to know are the same as the N/A motor but that is a really good idea the dealership is only 1 block away i will go ask.

Na i havent got the lower timing cover off yet and going by this I still need to. plus i nedd to do the timing belt anyway. Its not a big deal thats its not 2.7 as i already expected this and have planed for it but is good to try and get some money back

[quote=sam o nela;1167215]According to the online manual, there should be an engine code/serial number under the timing belt plastic (around the dipstick tube's height).[/QUOTE
