Lightbulb 92 Legend LS VS. 97 pontiac Fire Bird V6

I know that Legend is not design for racing It heavy but what do you guy think there is a kid in my school he just got 97 pontiac fire bird V6 auto and he telling me that he will smoke my car easy. I PERSONALLY think that my 92 LS can handle that. and he talking about $200 on the finish line and his car is 100% stock (He talking about high way race). Then he gave me some crab about Japanese car suck. I had beat serveral car since i got my car.

93 Honda civic with a SI motor, Header, shorter shift throw, intake, ignition update, high flow exhaust.
94 Honda civic (pretty much the same set up)
97 Sabb turbo
2001 Hundai Tributon
92 Camaro V6
02 Mustang V6
95 Mitsubisi 3000 gt non turbo verson
92 Dogde steal non turbo verson but with exhaust mod.
02 Golf (regular version i guess)

and my car is 100% stock
So in your opinion I should do it or not.

i dunno...

97 Firebird:
200 HP @ 5,200 rpm; 225 ft lb @ 4,000 rpm
approx 3477lbs

92 Legend:
200 HP @ 5,500 rpm ; 210 lb/ft @ 5,000rpm
approx 3500lbs

looks like he'll definately get you off the line...maybe you can catch up.

And make sure this is on the track.

i raced my buddy in a 99 v6 camaro with exhaust and intake, vs my 94 5spd with just intake and i put a couple cars on him. so i think auto to auto will be very similiar. good luck and keep it on the "track"

The only thing I hate about the track is the sticky stuff that they put down the starting line.

Well, the drag times numbers for that Firebird and our Legends is about even.

IMO, it will come down to the driver and what kind of condition the cars are in.

Example: Many years ago I had a 94 Mits. Galant (4 cylinder) and some schmuck in a late 90s Mustang GT was messin' with at the light. I figured it's 5am, no traffic, what the heck.

Well, it turned out I would be him at every light. As we were heading off the line, I could tell his car was "sick". It didn't sound right and from the looks of it, it appeared that he didn't take care of the car very well. I chalked that up to a dumb-ass who didn't know shit about cars but figured the GT emblem on his car made him fast.

the 3800series motor from GM is shit. i know from first hand experience that a legend 5spd will beat a v6 camaro/firebird 5spd or auto. and a stock fox body style mustake i mean mustang

I want to reiterate, 100% you will win, lose the intake resonator! Just so you know a V6 firebird=V6 camaro, and my auto has NEVER lost to a 5 spd either one; Therefore, you in a 5spd=win against the auto, by 1-2 cars. Don't misshift! and make us proud.
