Am i crazy for loving...

Turbo Lag?

It's incredibly fun sometimes. If it's maybe a second or so (maybe between 1 and 2 seconds worth), it's incredibly fun!

the feeling of anticipation, then the whack in the ass as the turbo lights off is just down right fun. Especially when it breaks the tires loose after you've already set off. sometimes is scary when you merge in front of someone, but if you time it right, you'll set off like a bat out of hell right in time.

So, am i crazy to actually like turbo lag, and the associated noises that come with it? like turbo spooling and blow off action?

Yes.

Watch that lag kick you in the ass when it jumps into your powerband just as you hit a curve. Ooh Ivan, you know better

Butthole, that's a low blow

But seriously, that's the thing. You can't slam your foot down in a corner in a RWD car anyway. Especially one with a substantial amount of torque and light weight. I've got it worked out to the point it's actually beneficial to have the lag with this RWD! You get into it right as you leave the corner and the explosion of power comes in right as you exit....fun stuff.

That said, i think the turbo in a FWD would be a little more safe around the corners, but probably more prone to power under if you're not careful with the throttle.

I just love the feeling of the delayed reaction and BOOM you're off.

Just an example of the acceleration i'm talking about. This was not a Streeeeeet Race...Just an acceleration run

FWD, RWD... try turbo AWD. Drove the piss out of my buddy's EVO IX MR awhile back. Mash it in first coming out of a 90 degree turn and it just plants and MOVES. Thing was awesome, I'd definitely get arrested in that car.

You are not wrong at all to like turbo lag. I myself prefer NA for a few reasons but I could certainly get used to having a turbo car.

I drove my buddy 87 Ford Mustang turbocharged. That thing is crazy when you floor it. Plus since he didn't have limited slips on them, it was really hard to keep it going straight. His shit was all over the road.
