Well, we can argue forever since we'll never have solid proof, unless you video your track run and timeslip. You only recently started to use mobil 1 syn because its only been out for 4-5yrs max and i really doubt your parents were using syn oil. You probably just converted over recently when the car was given to you. Meaning your parents used penzoil or equivalent standard motor oil. High milage engine's pistons and the reat of the combustion chamber are coated with oil residue raising your compression allowing your engine to create more power. Known fact for high milage engines. My spare Legend has 183k and has a lot of zip for that very reason, but not enough to run a 2.1 60ft, 9.8 1/8 mi, or a possible low 15 high 14 1/4 mi. This why people dog you. Better enjoy the cars power while it lasts.

On very-worn Kumho 716s, 28psi in front, 35psi in rear. All stock, nothing has been changed or removed (no intake, spare tire is still in, etc.)
Royal Purple 5W-30 through an NSX filter, if you count that as a "mod."

hmmm, very impressive..............
Allthough you ran out of steam in the top end. a 10.6 1/8th mile is pretty slow. Thats on par with a 16.2-16.5 1/4mile run.............. Very odd, You have an excellent launch but no top end?

It's a stock motor. I'm not expecting blazing times, and I don't claim to have a fast car either. I'm just not a drag racer so I'm not too interested in making it go straight all that fast ~ I just happened to be at the track that day and was talked into racing for the hell of it (coincidence really! I had my helmet in the car too!! Didn't plan ahead!
)I dunno mebbe it's my clutch or something. 91K miles in a 3500lbs sedan. Steveman09, not to criticize but you've got "only" a 10.4 on your 1/8 mile time... a full 0.2 second ahead of what I got, so to be fair I wouldn't say there's a huge difference between our performances on the 1/8 mile. I've yet to try a full 1/4 *dunno if it'll ever happen* but we all know Legends pull hard in 3rd gear ~ and even better on the freeway instead of a dead stop. My car was running great that night. I just can't drag race.

The point I'm getting at is you have tons more Horsepower and Torque then my G1 and less miles.
You killed my 60' foot time but lost to my 1/8th mile time? weiiirdddd. btw the timeslip in my sig was with my clutch master and slave cylinder bad, and major clutch slip after every gear shift 2nd-4th.

Yeah I'll take both criticisms. I admit I'm not the best driver so I'm gonna attribute my not-so-great times to my (lack of) drag racing ability. Steveman09, obviously the G2 makes more power than a G1, but I was under the impression that your car has its share of mods and after all, the G1 is lighter than the G2. Power has a lot of say in a drag race, but so does weight ~ case-in-point... the car that beat my 10.6 was a tiny EG hatch with a stock B16.
Either way, our Legends aren't doing too bad for four-door luxury sedans. ![]()

Thats great FF drivter a real good 60 ft, but your legends a manual, its expected of any manual to get a good 60 ft. A stock Legend auto running a 2.1 is astounding. I could only muster a 2.2 last week with my beast, but the differences between my legend and yours or others is shear torque. ( off the line power.) You had just enough power to not lose traction, which resulted in a great launch, but a crappy everything else. However in order to be faster in the topend you release more power in the low. So if you were to buy a cai, ypipe exhaust and chip i guarantee you that your clutch and tires wont launch you a 2.1 ever again, because you have that much more torque. This is were stickier tires, lsd, heavy duty clutch etc come into play. I have all this and still cant grab after 4k in 1st. Now thats my engine, yours with 300cc's less of displacement might keep traction with the tires lsd and clutch setup. If i have to run slicks i will. Once again great 60 ft in you manual, add more power and youll probably never launch as good again but your topend will be greaaaat. ~TRu Hybrid

the only reason he ripped off the line is because i stay spinning through 1st gear, and also i have an automatic, he had a manual, so STEVEMAN, does that answer your question? and another thing, cars run different on the street then they do at the track.
