99 Acura RL steering column manual up and down adjustment?

The tilt moter on my steering wheel does not function. the in and out works, but the up and down does not. I unplugged the battery to see if this would temporarily fix the problem enough for me to adjust the steering wheel to my liking and it did not.

So, i was wondering if anyone knows a way to adjust the steering wheel to a lower position manually? If so, how? any diagrams or pictures available?

any suggestions would be much appreciated on my 99 acura 3.5 RL

thanks guys, im new to the forums and am enjoying the things im learning.

There are two motors and they are known to fail. I don't know if they can be manually adjusted. Try downloading the tech manual (Download PDF PDFTown.com | Free Download PDF and eBook, search for "Acura RL") and getting under the steering column with a flashlight and some tools. You may be able to get a socket on the drive shaft of the motor and turn it....

this feature is out on mine at the moment. here's what to do. take the motor off, knock out the broken plastic that is most likely the reason for it not moving, then you should see the gear and be able to manually adjust it with a flat head screwdriver.
once again honda graces us with one of their there lovely plastic to metal ideas and fails. this set up is not gonna be easy to find in a junkyard, and no aftermarket company will make this. damn you honda!!!!!
