got the 1999 RL !
this exact one right here
vermont pearl green with 96,000 miles. Mint condition (although it has the SRS light ON which they will fix) http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...lor=&cardist=5 Traded in my 1997 RL with 93,000 miles and an additional 3,400 dollars -out the door (including tax and license) they gave me 8000 for the trade in so I got it for 11,400 out the door! You guys think it's a good deal for a mint condition 96,000 miles ? |

Ya that 14991 price that dealers put out are usually really overly pumped up. They usually add about 5000 dollars to what they paid for as a trade in. The key is to estimate how much they paid for it as a trade in. They usually give the Kelly blue book FAIR dealer trade in price, No matter how good a shape your car is in. They probably paid 9500 as a trade in, add about 1300 for tax and license and they are at 10,800. Anything they sell above 10,800 is all profit for them. with this in mind, you can start your offer as a OUT THE DOOR price. there was one in tustin acura, 1999 73000 miles, sold for 14,300 out the door. |

It's more trouble than it's worth since nobody makes after market lowering struts or coilovers for the 3.5 RL. the only thing you benefit from it is the "look" but even then the eibach/comptech doesn't drop it low enough. and also, IMO to lower a car properly without any problems you need to replace BOTH strut and springs. lowering it without the appropriate perfomance struts and using oem struts is a really bad idea. It kills the struts really fast, you have to fix the camber and then you have to suffer from the rough ride. Add a set of 19" wheels with 235/35/19 tires and you set yourself up for some bad side effects. |

Thanks guys. Only reason I would trade it in is because I know the dealer is the only one that would give me anywhere close to what I would want for it. Private seller I'd be waiting for years...
Of cource ide turn it in stock.

You think the dealer would give you more with the aftermarket stuff on it? I always figured they would try to cheat you out of some money. I seriously hope you don't........BUT if you do, put me down first for the fog lights
Seriously though, reconsider that decision. |

the dealer WILL NOT give him what he wants for it /what he deserves for it. as for your RL trade in, I can't believe u only got 5k. They gave me 8k and mine had 93,000 miles. If I wasn't in such a rush, my co worker just said he would have bought it for 9k. |

Well actually the dealer Ide go through would actually be the dealer that the coupe was origionally brought from in 95 brand new. I have 10 years worth of service records from them. It be an easy sell there. Just got to wait to come a cross a nice Blk/Blk w/ navi. I'm in no rush to sell. I'm looking at April or May for purchase date.
