Here they sell accord coils for only 107 dollar. Honda Accord 94-97 Dropzone Adjustable Coilovers -Honda Coil Over Kits So if yall are saying these work for the RL that would be a bargain. I'm wondering though when these are made for the weight of an accord, wouldn't it hurt too put them under a heavy RL?

Im not sure in any company even makes a 225/40/17. that is the size I want to put on my TL wheels but i cannot find them anywhere. As for wheel max, i ordered a wheel and tire package with them and had no problems

There is one tire for 225/40/17 which is NT555 EXTREME 225/40 ZR17 90W at $126.10 per tire. But I would recommend you to use more popular size for costwise. So, 235/40/17 is a good alternative and the price starts from $48.00 per tire. Check tires-easy.com. They offer tires for the best price.

Tires for PASSENGER CARs very cheap, bargains, have a look and save

I'm sorry to ask but what is the different between 215/40/R17 and 235/40/R17? performance? confort? I don't like tire with big rubber sticking out lol, so i would guess 215/40/17 is best for me, plus they're cheaper too

235 is wider and more expensive, mainly for performance. If done right, the 235 wont stick out, but if it does, it should barely be noticeable. the RL's fenders are really spacious anyway so if the fitment on the wheels and tires is right then rubber sticking out shouldnt be an issue.

i want to put 245's on mine

Hey, 3.5 RL!
235/40/R17 tires are much wider, safer, sportier, and more traction. 215/40/R17 is too narrow for RL or TL.

so what does this mean 215/40/17, they are not safe for an RL? Is it still possible to stick with 215/40/17 because the stock tires are 215/50/16.

215 is the width in milimeters, the 40 is describing sidewall height which stands for 40% of the width, 17 is the rim size in inches.

The tire you've selected is too small, in fact they'll be really goofy and rubber bandy looking. If the looks won't put you off then consider the rotational size. The stock tire is 215/50-16 and I would suggest 225/50-17 which is much closer in rotational diameter to the stock size.

The tires you selected are:

.84in SHORTER in the sidewall height
2.18in SMALLER in circumference

The 225/50-17 is:

.20in LARGER in the sidewall height

If you don't know anything about tires, even enough to know what the numbers mean, you shouldn't be second guessing the suggestions these people are offering. You also need to be sure that the tires you select have an adequate speed and load rating for safety so you don't end up with a blow-out. Saving money and dying is false economy at best. Don't save money on brakes next year either!

When you consider a different tire size, you must keep the overall diameter of the tires the same or at least within 3%. Otherwise, it will give a negative affect on your vehicle's gear ratio. I would strongly recommend it within 1% difference though.

If your OEM tire size is 215/50/16, the 225/50/17 is 5.38% bigger in diameter, so it is not the right size. As I told you, 235/40/17 is a good choice in terms of wider, safer, cost-effective, and variety of stock availability. The diameter difference with OEM tire size is just 0.25% smaller. it means that your speedometer indicates 60.1 mph for the tire size, when 60.0 mph for the OEM size. An alternative size is 215/45/17 which is 0.61% bigger in diameter and 59.2 mph in speedometer if you wanna keep it the same width to OEM.

Here's some lists of 235/40/17 tires. All of them are Korean brands. They are all the best performance tire brands in Korea. I listed them in the order of price. If you just care about best performance, safer and look, then, the number 5 Hankook VENTUS SPORT K104 is the best of the best compared to any other brand even not listed in below. But if you add cost-wise to there, then, I would choose the number 2 Nexen N 3000.

1. Kumho ECSTA 711 235/40 R17 90H BSW
UTQG: 320AAA
Price: $61.20 per tire

2. Nexen N 3000 235/40 ZR17 90W BSW
UTQG: 340AA
Price: $65.60 per tire

3. Nexen N 7000 235/40 ZR17 90W BSW
UTQG: 360AA
Price: $72.40 per tire

4. Hankook VENTUS H405 HR II 235/40 R17 90H , VSB
UTQG: 340AA
Price: $79.60 per tire

5. Hankook VENTUS SPORT K104 235/40 ZR17 94Y XL 4PR with rim protection
UTQG: 280AAA
Price: $91.40 per tire

* The price information was cited from Tires for PASSENGER CARs very cheap, bargains, have a look and save
