K Sport guys, wheres the reviews?
Let's hear how you guys like the coilovers! :p
I ended up giving up on my search for spring/shock combos... I'm going to be buying the Ksports soon, getting hooked up from one of my buddies. So how's the ride, what's your settings, and how low are you guys riding? Remember to get your car corner balanced!!! |

I'm going to pick up my Ksports on Sat. I got hooked up with a pretty darn good deal from one of my friends. I was supposed to get it in 2-4 wks, but the set arrived from Ksport in 1 wk and 4 days! Pretty good turnaround time!!
I will probably install the same day, so I'll let you guys know how it goes, and my driving impressions. You might get a sneak peek at my new wheels too, if they don't stick out too much. ![]() |

I am an owner of 1st-gen RL with 2nd-gen Legend Ksport coilover installed. I'm still testing the kit in various way before I give a full review here. Up to now, I would say the rear is bouncy. I thought front should have been stiffer and bouncy but the front is perfect! The 2nd-gen Legend specific Ksport coilover has a spring rate of 13/7 for front/rear.
I had installed 245/45/18 100W Trazano (also known as Nexen) N7000 tires on 18x7.5 +42mm offset ADR Sokudo wheels recently. I rolled front fender seriously and cut rear fender lips off almost all the way by myself. My baby has a perfect stance with flushed out. There are -0.50 degree camber and 0.00 degree toe on all the wheels. I did the camber and wheel alignment by myself. I had spend such a great time and effort to figure out how to do the wheel alignment precisely. To properly install the G2 Legend specific Ksport coilover on the G1 RL, there are two things need to be modified. First, You need to get a pair of G2 Legend front strut forks to replace RL's forks since the RL's forks have two small opening to seat the Legend strut bottom. Second, You need to drill two holes on each front top mount to install two bolts (preferrably wheel studs) to tie the strut bar on them. Of course, you have to get the front and rear camber kits if you want to properly lower your car. Otherwise, you may eat up your tires within a year. Here is some sneak pics! I will give you a detail review sometime later. Enjoy! I'm pretty darn happy.
Look at what I just picked up!! ![]() My mom even loves the Ksport's colors ![]() ![]() ![]() I probably won't be installing for a while, until I get a custom strut bar, because I do not want to drill into the coilover. |

Put in the Ksports today.
I'm riding on 12 clicks from max stiff on the fronts, and 14 clicks from max stiff in the rear. But thinking about putting it softer for the dampening to break in... I don't want to leave it on stiff, then try to put it on soft, just to find it doesn't get much softer. Confusion: - Image - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting[/url]It seems a bit odd... to me it seems like it's placed a bit low... but it works just fine. Problem 1: ![]() The supplied brake line holder thingamajiggies are horrible... way to freaking high, so I used a ziptie to tie them... Problem 2: ![]() Just exactly like 97_RLer said.... I don't want to drill into the coilover, so I am going to get some welder to come by and make something for me... Quick Driving home: 12 clicks from max stiff on the fronts, and 14 clicks from max stiff in the rear... Car felt stiffer by quite a bit, when entering the car, suspension did not go down like the oem's. Was a bit bumpy, but it was comfortable for me... Here's my current height.... I want to wait a few days to get used to the suspension ![]() Oh yeah, the RL forks are PUNY compared to the Legend ones.. :p |
