Question rims & offset confusion...

hey cali...

PMed you earlier but no reply, so here goes...
hey people!

was just reading the earlier posts about rims and thought i'd take your word on something since many of you have done it,

cali, youve done it yourself...love the look of yours!

im running a KA9 too, currently on 17"...dodgy corner store material...now after listening to you guys ranting about the bigger sizes, AND looking at some of the rides here, i wanted to upsize mine too.

im getting her back after a very long time, and wanted to celebrate with 19"s. i do a lot of driving, so i hope that doesn't have an impact (if any) on this choice.

im looking at these...
OZ - Home

would the offsets on these be ok? i believe our original offsets are around +45 right? i want that damned deepdish effect!!! and ofcourse no rubbing!

the person who's ordering my H&R lowering springs said he'd let me know what to go for once the installation is complete, and to take a call on it once the final ride height is achieved.

now i wanted to walk in after doing my homework. thats where you guys come in...

i dont know if he can do a proper fender rolling job, and out here in the UAE, everyone says they can do everything till you end up finding out otherwise.

i dont want to do it and screw things up more. the springs including shipment are $400, which is cool, but i dont know about the rim.

what tire size should i be looking at? im currently running 215/45s. i drive it to work too, so it needs to hold it own ground, plus attract attention and at the same time not sacrifice too much ride comfort! tall order? i hope not!

Those OZ are nice as heck.

The offset for the RL MIGHT be 60-65ish going on the assumption that the G2 Legend's is +65mm. The RL has much more room under the body than the G2 though so you're not limited to the select wheel choices like the G2 Legend.

You could go with 19x8 +40s or 8.5 with a +40 all around and not worry too much about it.

If you're looking for a set of wheels, i have some that are perfectly matched for the RL. Infact they're made for the RL's body in a conservative mode.

Don't know exactly how deepdish you want, but here's My Wheels, they're For Sale.

FS: 19" Work Euroline DH

If you're looking to roll, it becomes a dynamic problem. I say dynamic because this introduces a lot of variables, such as how much roll was done, if there was any fender pulling, and if there was how much. you can run pretty low offsets for a FWD Acura/Honda when you start doing things...

Eastwood has a fender rolling kit i've seen advertised places. just requires a heat gun patience and a little testicular fortitude and you can roll your own fenders.

EDIT:

By the way, the link to the wheels in your post was messed up so I pulled up the right one

Here ya go.

be careful when you increase the width of the tire when it comes to the offset...

check out this link for the offset calculator it will help you out Wheel Offset Calculator

Sorry for lagging bro. As far as the offset, I would go with +42 and higher if u want to lower ur car(so tire won’t rub) Tires…I really don’t know about tires for 19’s(I’m running 20’s) but alot of guys here are running 19’s so maybe they can help. I’m not a big fan of springs but they should be stiff enough to give you a smooth ride. There should be legit auto body or rim shops in Dubai. Not to hard to roll fenders just very time consuming work if u do it urself. Auto body or rim shop should have special tool for rolling fenders. Good luck with ur RL

Talking sorry for the late reply...

im really excited about this! can't thank you guys enuf!!

B+O, i've decided to go 20 you convinced me man! wish i could see some bigger pics of your ride! im not goin for too much chrome, prefer the polished alloy look but yes a bit of a 2inch dish with probably a bit of lip too...if that doesnt work then i'll just settle for the flush finish...

how do you guys think a gold-finished one would look? you know the Subari WRX Sti blue-gold combo? that kind...the RL's midnight pearl blue looks much better though

anyways...she should be here soon, so the springs would be ready by then. the dealer has asked me to wait to see how low she goes after the install. so lets see how that works out...and yeah i've got the right guy for the fender rolling too can you guys believe how excited i am!!!

oh yeah...and there's an indash touchscreen DVD player in the pipe too

thanks a million guys!!

225/35? isn't that rubberband thin? i wanted to retain a bit of the cushy ride, and hopefully the springs will take away the wallow effect.

isnt it possible to go with 225/40s or something? i dont want it as high as the original 55s..that's too much...i just feel it looks just a little odd with a very thin tire on a heavy body like our...what say you guys?
