Pretty nice, asking price is about $3k too high even if it is a dealer.

He'll get his asking price...just might take a while. Where are you going to get a MINT pearl white coupe for $5,300?

NADA high retail is $5,750. It's an auto, it's been smoked in, has different gauges which may mean other mods, rear bumper cover is scratched up and no pics of that, replaced seats which could mean lots of short trips, and anyone that puts 'yo' on their personalized plate stirs wonder. He may get his asking price because people assume that cars at a dealership are better and less risky, and car prices in general may be higher in L.A.

You can throw the book out on a clean Legend, NADA high retail means nothing.

What does "lots of short trips" mean? Legend leather does tend to wear after 14 years/138k miles of use. Most people would like new leather.

Yeah, that's pretty true. I think I paid a little over book for mine a couple years ago, but below book by quite a bit on the first '94 GS. So I guess it evened out.

Lots of short trips can mean higher wear on the engine, suspension, doors, and other items. I would rather have old leather in good condition which would mean that the car was most likely driven further distances (which also means the engine gets to proper operating temperature) and exited/entered less. Several short trips such as in-town errands are usually going to put more wear and tear on the car than less, mostly highway driving trips would.

Thanks but I know what short trips can do to an engine....been around cars all my life.

My point is that no one knows what condition the leather in this particular car was in. The leather in my new coupe isn't all that bad but I plan on changing it out with new later this year.

A common misconception on forums is that people are only replying to the others in the thread, but the truth is many people might end up viewing this who haven't had as much exposure to info like you have who will never post. But anyway, I would consider buying that car for $4500.

Speaking of new coupes, why am I looking at this thread anyway? I should be looking at the pics thread of yours. Don't know how I missed it, just saw it on your sig.

Nope, doin' the mini e-battle with you and lookin' out for others. It's called multitasking.

Besides, there are many people, including mechanics, that have been around cars a long time and more times than not they have bad information, so your point is moot.
