Carfax question
I m making some headway into finding a 94 95 LS GS Legend; quick question I see looking up carfax reports that tell you reports, does anyone know if reports generally mean leave the car alone, i ve found three cars and each have records, ranging from least to greatest, 9, 10, and 17. I just want to know if that means i shouldn't even look at them at all?

Okay, I think I have figured out what you're saying.
The amount of records listed on a report may or may not be a bad thing. Anything like registering the vehicle to things like odometer adjustment would be under the report. If you are really serious about getting a new car, pay the money and get the carfax, or post under the main G2 forum to see if someone has a carfax you can use. |

The numbers you are referring to are simply the number of pieces of data that carfax has on record for the vehicle. Lots of data could be good for verifying true mileage, but on the other hand, lots of entries can mean the car has been retitled a number of times (lots of owners) making the cars history (maintenance and otherwise) more difficult to determine. To answer your question, the number of entries doesn't directly mean it is a good or bad vehicle. Keep in mind that a clean carfax isn't perfect. Minor accidents don't always make it into their records.

get the actual report
Did you just get the "free" car fax search? That dosen't tell you much.
If you're really interested in the car - pay the $20 - $24 and get the actual report. The records can range from titles changes, flood, accidents to vehicle services and maintenance updates, etc. For example, I am the second owner of my Acura. The Legend had been dealer maintained. There are around 11 records for my car - mostly from 2 title changes and dealer service records. Please remember, carfax in only part of your research, get a mechnaic to take a closer look. Dave
