Question AC electric fan problem....

I have a 92 LS coupe with 191K. I'm having an AC fan problem that may be referred to in the answers already online, but nothing specifically sounds like my problem, so I'm asking for advice. My compressor seems to be fine as at times, the AC works great and even when it's not working properly, in fresh mode on the interstate, cool air trickles out. My problem is that the fan works less times than not but because it sporadically comes on fine, I would think the fan itself is ok. Someone told me to check the electric fan switch, that it may be the problem but then I was told it could be a problem with the whole automatic climate control unit (mine's all digital with a thermostat knob). Before I pull the passenger seat out to look for a cracked board, does my problem sound familiar to anyone and if so can you point me in the right direction to fixing this problem? It's about to turn very cold here and the problem exists with the heat as well as the AC. Seat heaters only get me so warm! Thanks for the help!

Are your reffering to the two electric fans on the back of the radiator? The fans don't run all the time, there controlled by the temp sensor. As long as your not overheating and the A/C is cool its OAD (operating as designed).

If your not getting air in the cabin, its the blower motor. Most likely you have leaves clogging the the motor.

To prevent outside vent air from coming in, set the temp control to re-circulate.

Thanks for the reply. My problem is with the climate control fan. Sometimes it works fine, most times it will not work at all. I want the outside air coming in... right now it's my only source of heat/air. The reason I thought it might be more than the blower motor was because, if it's the blower motor, wouldn't it not work all the time?
