I tried to take off the top of the box once, but I saw a whole bunch of cotten/gauze stuff in there so I put it back on. The stuff inside looked really out in the open, so I didn't want to risk anything weird happening. Just go for an ebay intake. It should cost you too much, I got mine for 60 dollars and I think it sounds good.

I removed the intake resonator from my 95 auto Coupe. It makes the intake sound between the quiet stock and full intake. It is just slightly louder than stock.

I am just wondering what you would use to plug the hole back up. I thought about putting a filter on it, but I am not sure. I know it should not be left open.

I have had my resonator removed for about 6 months now. The car is slightly noisier than stock and there is barely (if any) a difference in power even with my K&N drop in filter. Why you would want a noisier car (left alone a Legend) is beyond me but if noise and power is what you want, removing the resonator will not do it. It was dead weight for me so I got rid of it for cosmetic purposes.

why would you plug the hole. i believe he is talking about the resonator box that is BEFORE the filter box. its between the bumper and the right front wheel. and if you plug the hole that it leaves open. you'll be plugging up your whole system.

its there to reduce noise. and be a gravity catch for any water that comes into the intake before it.

it does give a soft but louder than stock intake sound. plus if you're tryin to get clever. you can route some tubing from the bottom of the stock airbox down to a fogliight hole and get "ram air" however this form of ram air probably wouldn't do you much good below 80 mph. haha
