does anyone know if this is something I need to purchase from dealer only?

Are you talking about the low side service port (schrader valve). If so then no it does not need to be a dealer item.

If it is the low / high pressure cutoff switch on the liquid line then yes that needs to be a dealer item. It is about $65.00

not the cut off, the low side valve where you inject more a/c fluid. I can probably pick this up at any auto store right?

If you are talking about the valve that converts the r12 to 134a, then Yea you can get it at an auto store

Has the system been converted to 134? If it has then a new adaptor (134 fitting) can be purchased at a parts store. If it is the original R12 the shrader valve, the part that you depress to fill the system ,this can also be found at the same place. Be aware that to replace the fitting or the valve requires that the system be discharged and vacuum has to be pulled before a new charge.

yo guys i have a question. i want to recharge the ac and i need to know were the low side service port is. just got my car and i have no idea were it is. Pic would be helpful. is it the one at top next to the radiator or the one that lower at the bumper.
