In Canada .... BG44K or Seafoam

Are these products sold anywhere in Canada ?

I tried Subaru dealer, a Hyundai dealer and several autoparts stores and they had not even heard of either .... I want to throw some into my car without taking a trip to Buffalo .... any ideas ?

I saw BG44K at a local muffler shop so there will be a canadian distributor.

There is also someone in Vancouver that always sells a BG Kit on eBay.ca.

Acura recommends the Chevron Techron. The BG44k is similar to the Techron. For the price and availability, you could just pour in 2 Techron. I thought the Seafoam was a top engine cleaner similar to GM Top Engine Cleaner.

If you really want to clean out the top of the engine and clean the injectors, you need to use 3M Injector Cleaner kit which runs the engine off of a compressed can of solvent.

well Napa is in Canada and does have Seafoam - thanks oMaiR !

LPB, if I had seen your post that Acura recommends the Chevron Techron, I would have bought that instead, but I now have the Seafoam so I hope its not going to hurt anything.

BG44K is really hard to find here. I called around and NO ONE has even heard of it !

Thanks, but I would rather drive and buy than pay shipping ! Plus I only wanted the top engine cleaner.... which was under $13 at Napa.

I usually stay away from additives, but I do like things that clean up gunk and deposits. As long as you use them AS DIRECTED, they can help keep your car running smooth and efficiently. The ones that cost a lot and promise the world are usually just snake oil.

Stu: I am in US and had to order via internet. By the time I bought and shipped two of the 44k, I could have bought 6 of the Techron at WalMart. I use the Techron about every two months. Did not notice any marked improvement using the 44K.

If you car has over 100k miles and has only infrequently had the Techron added, now might be the time to have it cleaned using the 3M system. The Acura dealer should be able to perform this. The kit is also available (ex. Eckler's Corvette Parts --FL). The hard part will be locating the fuel line adapter.

LPB : I picked up the Seafoam in Toronto at NAPA for under $13 so I will give it a shot. Next time (if there is one) I will go with the Techron or get the 3M system done at the dealer.

After reading all the posts on this here, I am going to put it into the engine through the PVC valve, but I am NOT putting any in in my oil or in my gas tank.

Edit: I couldn't wait to use this stuff. I dumoed half the can into my tank of 94 octane gas. I am driving the car hard to burn the gas as quickly as I can ... zooom zooom !
