Cant figure it out

I got a 1991 acura legend ls with 99k miles about a month ago ran perfectly fine until the other day when the upper radiator hose blew and had a huge hole in it.
Ive replaced the hose but then it would idle it would just rev up and down and if i put it in drive it would just sit around 1000rpm so i bled the system which didnt change anything. So today i just changed the thermostat and when i first start it up it was reving at idle again then eventually stopped and was running like it should except the temp gauge would float between the middle and the H and now my heat doesnt work and it started to steam up (i think its from coolant over the car from when the radiator hose bursted) a little bit after it was running for about 10 minutes and the radiator fans never came on.

Me and anybody i know cant think of the problem ive looked at several different threads and cant find any that are exactly my problem if anybody knows any solutions please let me know thankyou for your time.

Did you bleed the coolant system to eliminate air?

And was your heater on hot while bleeding? Also did you put in an OEM thermostat?

When it is cool and TURNED OFF, remove the radiator cap and squeeze the large bottom hose. Does coolant come out the top? If you still have your original radiator, it could be plugged.
