Changing from left steering to right steering
Basically I would like to take the car to India....however there is a ban on left steering. It must be right handed. I am thinking to either see if it can switched, or buy a second hand japanese legend.....they have loads of nice options right?
I heard that in England legends have nice options there too. So what do you all think? Is it possible...or is it too labor intensive? Also does anyone know of a japanese site where I can look into purchasing a Japanese care, and getting it shipped to Korea? The move to India would be late next year. So I would have plenty of time to network with people here on spare parts, and getting them shipped to India. Also this car would not be the MAIN car.....just my lovely baby...... thanks! |

just buy one... Check this site out and they have lots of clean ass looking legends. Youre not far from nihon anyways so you'll save on shipping costs. I doubt Korea is as strict as US customs anyway.
+ I am assuming this is easier for you to read than my Mexican self... lol レジェンド < ホンダ < ... < 自動車、オートバイ - Yahoo!オークション

Ok i will check out the site....actually I was thinking it might be a better bet to just buy a RHD legend....I saw some nice deals so far...
I want one with power side mirrors....needed in Asia...ALOT. I might be leaving South Korea to India or China....so I need to see if I can get the car shipped there. Is buying a car this way safe? I mean I will I get the car? I know I will be buying "as is" I just want the thing delivered.... |

Also if you register the Arcadia as a 'collectors' or 'rare' car in India you'll pay higher taxes and have to put in a special warning on your license plates saying LHD vehicle but you should be able to import/register it in India. I don't know this for sure off-hand, but I have personally seen LHD American cars (Vettes, Vipers etc) in India with similar plates. Get in touch with the nearest India embassy/consulate and tell them you want to import an LHD vehicle for personal use during your stay in India (and that it will leave wit you when you move) and they might be able to get you the most current info.

Stock can throw down too.

I remember a long time ago Shaar was selling a "RHD kit". It included a RHD dash, steering wheel with honda airbag(though you technically don't need that) and I think RHD wipers. If you look under the hood of a RHD legend, I think a couple of the things in back are reversed too. The kit ended up getting parted out though and you should definitely buy a car once you get there instead of making your car RHD and shipping it there.

WOw ....how much was the kit? no I will search for it....thanks.
I love my legend too much...I get attached....short of the car getting totaled I want to keep it going for as long as possible. With a forum like this....I would not have to worry! Ok I am going to search for that thread! Thanks again! |

In the caribbean we get the cars cut in half and attach them back when they get to there destination. we do this because its cheaper to send half of a car than to send the whole thing. its like sending parts, not a car. And most of the time these SUV's and big trucks are stolen so its harder to track a half of a stolen car than the whole car
but once you drive a JDM RHD legend. you wont want your old LHD anymore
