A day well spent.. pics.. 56k will DIE

Today my mechanic and I finshed putting my headers on the legend, Took about 2 1/2 days just because i had work, so did he so it just never got work on for more than 2 hours, but today we spent mostly the whole day finshing it. Ran into a couple problems though. First a couple exhaust bolts broke, so we had to drill them out, and finally decided to replace all the bolts. Second we had to extend the o2 senors (very easy to do) then heatrap the Ac lines. Last we ran into a probelm with the egr, Now note on the obx header do not have port for this. What did for the mean time just to get it running was block off the port, but this does trip the Check Engine, because of the Temp. What i plan to do is drill a hole and weld a small pipe to connect the egr to the headers. Other than that its a pretty much direct fit onto a sedan. not issue with it touching anything expect ac lines, Please note though that there is not alot of room to do much of anythign after these headers are on so make sure you heatrap and extend the o2 wire before you install the headers. After that was finshed, i needed to fix a couple things with my brakes. One was one of my brake lines were leaking. Also the caliper paint was peeling off, This was due to me just slaping some paint on there (doing a piss poor job) and didn't clean or prime nor make sure the paint was heat resistant there for lead to peeling. So i repainted right front caliper (left one needs repaint as well) and did it right. I was a little lazy and didn't want tot ake off the entire caliper just because it was starting to get dark so i just wing it, Other than that im pretty sure this was a day well spent. I was hoping to install the lightened pulleys before xmas, but that will just have to wait since they have not arrived yet

The car sounds almost like a newer GT mustang, has that throaty sound to it, not much loader with the headers on the road, Noticeble differance around 3000-3500 rpms though

Notice the paint peeling

nice looks good! i wouldn't reattach the pair pipe. i'd just clean the valve, it should be fine with out it, for upgrade to a typeII intake manifold

How the hell is the caliper on opposite side? Look at the bleeder! Its pointing up. If it was backwards it would be pointing down (bad).

Dont sweat the pipe - its not for the EGR its for PAIR. It allows more oxygen into the exhaust for a piss-poor job of emmisions compliance. Type II Legend's dont even have them. Just block it off with a cap screw on the headers and make a block off plate for the intake manifold - or switch over to type II intake manifold :-). The valve being missing WILL NOT cause your check engine light to come on, unless you have a huge vacuum leak from the pair pipe being missing - check for leaks. Run the codes and find out if you disconnected a sensor somewhere.

The EGR Pipe runs from the passenger's side cylinder head to the back of the intake manifold. Its small - about a 1/2" in diameter verses the pair pipes 1".

Naah.. more than likely you fucked up the wiring on the oxygen sensors. Check the check engine light codes before you waste your time/money. What the hell does that have to do with the Temp??? Trust me, there is nothing in the ECU that monitors the function of the PAIR valve.
