Well the closing mechanism on the driver side door went kaput. It just stopped sucking the door tight against the frame one day. Electronically nothing is different (when the door closes, the light turns off and the seat belt thingy moves around) but it's noisy on the road and water leaks a little when it rains hard, and it just looks bad.
Is there any way to fix this? Can I replace it with a normal one or anything?
Lol, I might just buy a whole new door: the outside door handle is broken (the metal ripped appart!) the window is nearly broken, the windows switch will lock into the auto down position... and now this.
I just fixed mine a while ago. It doesn't use a sucking motion anymore, it just closes tightly. Check the acuator hinge inside where you open the door. The metal piece that looks like a U with black plastic around it. See if it moves around freely or stiff.
Depending on how it is, you might be able to fix it to where it closes right.

You're welcome, and remember one thing.. Don't slam these coupe doors! The actuator motors are really weak. The gears inside mine actually broke into pieces and I thought I was careful with how I close my door. I replaced mine and it was all good.
is this just a coupe thing? like Cadillac trunk closers...?
