Ok, i've taken apart my stock, driverside door security light in hopes to install an bright white blinker instead of the dim red. In doing so I've seem to run into a problem. First and simplest, I lost the little part that actually says security in-which the led is held to. Second, I think I have to remake the wiring harness for it which included a resistor to lower the voltage I assume since the red LED is a 3 volt.
So if electrical wiz out there can help answer, please do.

Basically I need to know is what resistor should I use in rebuilding it if my new LED is a 6 volt. I kind of assume that the power passing through the wire before the resistor is 12v but using a volt meter and got screwed up. I think I recall it bliping from about 0 to 0.3v...which I think i wrong.
If someone can help me with my other problem of missing the security plate which is brown. Help as in maybe you have one on hand and I could buy it from you, I'd madly appreciate it.
I know we all come from different backgrounds, and jobs....so, in hopes this will help me and any and all who wanna do the same.
