I think either chevy or ford had a 4 door "coupe", in the 50's, which has something to do with not having a solid post between the widows when rolled down in it's definition for "coupe". So if front and back windows roll down and it's all open space with no post it's considered a coupe even with four doors.

Actually it dates back a "little" bit further than the fifties, like say.......thirty years further:
I remember well, when this car first hit the market, nobody believed it was a coupe!

thats funny shit, yeah i do recall what you are talking about, benz says that its the shape and the sertain distance btwn the front door and rear door and the say its setup is a coupe but it has four door, btw i have driven it (CLS500) they are fun as hell but so is my legend though, b/c it has the NSX3.2 in it.

They had four speed manual transmission in the 50's and 60's. Mostly muscle cars.. like the old GTO's.

My 71 Datsun has a four speed manual...

Of course, this guy could ALSO mean that the Syncros on his 5th gear are no good, thereby TECHNICALLY making this a 4 speed manual transmission car,

OR

He could be manually shifting the auto from D1 to D4 thereby fooling himself into believeing that he is driving a clutchless-manuamtic transmission...

yup thats right, but its running too rich, it burned my cat out, gotta get a new one, also i already need some new axles all around due to driving it so hard, i actually got to 200mph (~about the gauge only goes to 160mph) i need to get an aftermarket tech/speedo gauges b/c the stockers are not cutting it.
