On the way back from NOPI, I hit a stretch of RT 85 north that was totally empty in front of me. 100 came quick, 140 came about 30 seconds later. By the time I was done, I had the needle pointing almost straight down. I was covering the "S" part of the "NS" on my gauge.

!!!! This is the guy on Streetfire who says he has the "NSX motor". hahaha That's funny.Anyways, my story: Here in Houston there is usually pretty thick traffic here in town, but when I hit I-45 to go visit my mom in Dallas I have clear roads to ride on. The last time I took the trip me and this Lexus SC400 decided to form a squadron for a good stretch. We ended up driving in tandem and he was behind me. We were already going around 100mph but I decided I wanted to get a little adrenaline rush and started to accelerate. The SC400 pulled into the lane next to me and we were cruising at around 130MPH for about 5 minutes. It was fun. I could have gained a little more speed (I've maxed the speedo once) but the SC400 didn't keep accelerating so I just stuck beside him.

Nice. sounds like fun, and sounds like a run phil and I made. We were in South okc for some uhhhhh......track racing, yeah, thats it. Anyway, he was crashing at my house, so we headed back. It was around 3-4 in the morning, no other traffic to speak of. We passed a few cars, but with 3-4 lanes, and us only occupying one, we were fine. Stillwater is a 45-50 minute drive from North okc, and we were on around S. 50th. Should have been over and hour drive, maybe more. We made it in 33 minutes. We were both over 125 for most of the run, and I put the Sedan well over 140 for quite a while. After slowing down to 110 from a long run at 140, it feels like you are crawling. There is a big speed difference between 140 and even 120. Watch your asses fellas. Oh, and for those of you saying that a legend is "easy" to get to 140. Yeah, ok. After 130, its a slow process, type I or II, mods or no (ive got both). Even in a intake, no cat exhaust, chip and NITROUS, getting up there is still not "fast" Go ride in a real fast car and see the difference. Either you have never been to those speeds, which wouldnt suprise me, or you have never been in a fast car. And aerodynamically, a legend is limited at a little over 150. I have had it to what would be mid 150s on the speedo several times, and i think that it is around 140-145 in reality. Its funny, that 153 shot used to pretty much stop these threads, but now we get a few people claiming 160............ And to anyone claiming to have an NSX motor in their legend. You are a fucking liar, straight up. |

[quote] I hope you were on 35 not broadway extension in okc the roads are shit and there is always construction on broadway. Not the safest place for high speed runs and even 35 has some sketchy spots. As for easy hell no when I was toying with the saleen on the way back from KC I used a whole bottle and it was barely climbing after the speedo hit about 135.I would say we were at it for about 20 minutes in all and we started at 90.
