Finally, Indiglo gauge pictures

I finally got some pictures of my S/R MotorSports TYPE II/TCS indiglo gauges installed on my 6-Speed. I have it set on green and a few clicks pass the half way point on the brightness knob. Having it on full brightness is just too bright for me. This gives be a good night viewing balance. I can see the numbers and neeles well at this setting and it is not blinding. The needles appear black for the most part at night, but shows up well against the indiglo lighted background. I guess it looks the same as everyone elses:p The picture is a little blurry though since I had the shutter open for a longer time.

Now this is a daytime picture. This is one modification that I'm very pleased with and I'm glad I did it.

What are they really like at night?i

Like the guages. I am thinking of getting some, in the day they look really good white dials just look so cool.

But I really want an honest opinion at what are they like at night - is it like having a neon light shining in your face, and when they are dimmed to an OK level care they still OK?

Any opinions please?

The are not blinding at night. If you turn the brightness up all the way to the max, than IMHO it is much too bright. About half way it is a good level for me. About the same as the Lexus illuminated gauges. If you start turning it too far down, than you start to loose the needles as the lighted background becomes too dim. I have all my lights bedhing the guages in place even though it doesn't shine thankfully, it keept them to illuminate the odomoter and trip meter. I removed the overhead lights (two of them) so they don't wash out the indiglo look.

Either way, the dimmer knob that comes with the gauges have a wide range to nearly no illumination at all, to way too bright and anything in between.

Chris, the guages look nice. I can't really tell from the picture, is the surface of the guages a shiny, glossy finish or more of flat finish.

Also, about how long the install take and any pointers?

Thanks

I'm taking my car in to Acura on Monday, so I'm prepping it (Putting things back on) for service. Let's meet up next weeked sometime. Just send me an email and remind me. No Footbal game again so it should be a free weekend. Too bad the new leather seats hasn't come in yet

The gauges have a non glare platic coating, or sleeve on them. It is not glossy or shinny.

My dealer doesn't really care. However, you never know. If you have the chance, you could swap back in the OEM intake, otherwise I wouldn't really be worried about it, unless your dealer has a reputation for being strict on those types of things.

Hey Jake, I can help you put them in. I have been seriously thinking about changing out my reverse indiglos for the indiglos. I think I just want a change, LOL...I'm just afraid that I might break something trying to remove the reverse indiglos. They are stuck on there TIGHT with the tape that it came with.....

Let me know if you want some help. The removal of the dash on the coupe should be similar to my sedan. In all, it took about an 1.5 hours to do the job. That was being really really really careful not to break anything.

These are the reverse indiglos in the original group buy for Type I gauges...my needles are painted red with red marker:

I'm just curious, how do you guys go about painting the needles? How hard is the process and what do you use?

Thanks
