First gear issues please help

I have a 91 acura legend and my car just started acting crazy. When I crank the car and put it in D4 it seems like its stuck in neutral no matter how hard you push the gas then after a couple seconds it goes in drive. The car only does it after you cut it off. If you stop at a light it shifts fine. I have no D4 light blinking or anything.I changed my transmission fluid and differential fluid within the past month. The transmission was recondition about 90k ago. I don't drive the car hard it my daily driver to work. Any suggestion what this might be hope the tranny is going out

Did you check/replace the tranny screen (filter)?

How hard is it to access? It just makes no since if first gear was going out it would do it all the time I would think not just upon start up

It's easy to access when you drop the pan. Check the FSM for details. It does it upon start-up because the fluid is cold and thick and will not go through the screen/filter.
