Front End Coupe Mini Crisis........
I Need some help and suggestions.
Today I accidently rear ended a Chevy Pickup, Reached in my back seat, my foot shifted from the brake to the gas n my front end fell victim to the infamous Block Hitch. Deadcenter of the bumper. My Front bumper is done, the side-ends of the bumper flare out at the front fenders. My hood got pushed in at the grill n the bar that runs down from the hood latch in front of the ac cooler/Radiator got bent in dead center so the radiator has a slight warpage. Fortunately things don't seem as bad as they look. No visible leaks, my stearing systems seems ok, my fans run, noting is touching or seems even close. Anyone know where i can find folks parting legends for a hood and front bumper for a 91 coupe LS or if a 4 door hood or bumper is interchangable? Also what are my best options? I recently did a JDM engine swap typeII about a year n a half ago. should I A. find a decent junked coupe in great condition with a fried engine n swap mine. or B. just do what needs to be done on my car to what seems to be cosmetic issues and just locate parts n fix it back up? I mean the thing is my rear fenders are pretty badly rotted, id'e been planning on getting serious body work and getting it repainted which is gonna be the most costly part of my paint job (Approriate Body work) n id'e also been needing to gut my interior n rugs. So would it be more logical to try locating a coupe that doesnt need those things n throwing my engine in there or just doing my coupe back up? Thanx alot, I cant stand to see my girl like this for too long. Got me sad for real......

1. 4 door parts such as the fenders, bumpers, hood, and headlights are not interchangable.
2. If you can find a very decent legend with fried engine and good interior, get it, either that or you'll be spending about 5k total for full repaint and replacing the metal on the rear quarter panels. Which ever seems cheaper to you. Its a big pain in the ass if you get another coupe though, changing the engine and tranny, then title, registration, and insurance and all that crap lol. |

My suggestions
Buy a carbon fiber hood (easy swap and you don't have to spend money on painting it) Pick up new or used 94-95 style coupe bumper and have it painted pearl white. You'll have to head over to Acura and probably purshase the hardware required for mounting the bumper correctly. As for your radiator support... that might be a costly fix to have bent back into shape. |

Thanx a million.
So a carbon fiber hood huh? how much them go for. I mean i didnt really intend to paint it after the repair anyway because i need to prep it properly n have rear fenders cutout n properly done or else a paint job is useless. I just wanted the front end presentable untill i can do so. Tomm. I call my insurance n find out my plan n what i my options are, n im makin some phone calls in search of a front bumper n hood. You guys really think that front radiator bar connected to the hood had hatch is costly? I was thinkin tie a chain on it n wrap it to a pole or sumthing n go in reverse slowly.... lol seems a bit half assed tho. Damn this accident....
