Front Grille for L vs. LS Coupe
I know that the 91-95 L vs. LS Coupe have different front, side, and rear skirts. The difference is the LS is painted to match the color of the car. But, the L is just black, like mine.
But, you know the OEM grille? Does anyone know if the OEM grille [the horizontal plastic slats w/Acura symbol] is black plastic [like my L] or is it body color match? The body color match kind of looks like 97-01 Accord Sedans.

.::shrug::.
Maybe my body shop sucks then. 'Cause I have an LS coupe and I'm pretty sure the horizontal slats are black plastic. Maybe they didn't paint it after they replaced it after I got in a wreck.

Just to make sure I wasn't losing my mind...
![]() ![]() Those are relatively recent. This was at least 3 years ago, before I got into any accident. Blame Honda if the grill is supposed to be body color.

Also, the 91-93 L and LS Coupes, as well as the 94-95 LS Coupes all had black lower trim. Only the 94-95 LS Coupes came painted. However, many have simply had theirs painted. Anyway, those black horizantal slats were NOT painted fromt he factory. If anyones car is, then it was painted by a body shop. |

On the Legend, the term "grille" is used to denote that part which consists of slats mounted to a surround located in the hood. This is black, although there is no reason why this rigid plastic part could not be painted. Oh, oh another "modification" may be coming.
New front bumper covers are sold unpainted and are black. It is up to the refinisher to mask off the lower opening to keep the slats and some of its surround black. My 92 LS Cpe has a completely painted front bumper cover, with exception of the front spoiler which is black. Having bought the vehicle used, I have no idea whether the cover color coverage is OEM or not. |

Thanks to all that replied. As some of you know I painted that metal grille that some of us have white to match the body of my car, but if you look closely, it's slightly darker as you get away from the edges of the grille, partially due to the fact the OEM grille is black. So I was thinking, if I made it white, then the white grille itself would stick out nicely. Ya think?
