it is in the tank, access it either from the trunk, or by removing the rear seat back.

The fuel pump is the round piece on the left (passenger) passenger side, easiest accessible by removing rear back of seat.

It is accessed by removing the oblong cover show on the wire harness below:

Corrie!! dude its your lucky day. i've taken mine out before, when my car wasnt running right up at Matt's shop. I accessed it though the trunk, under the trunk carpet all the way back by the seat. (matt made me squeeze my small ass back there to get at it.) The tank does not have to be drained. its just like 8 or 10 10mm bults, a few hoses and a wire clip and shes out. Just dont spill the gas in the trunk, or bump your head on the trunk brackets locking you inside.... with the keys.... so u cant get out..... (Yes, it didnt go as smoothly as i had hoped.... )

ha this thread has me laughing.

But your got your answer, dont really NEED to empty the tank but I suggest not doing it with more then 1/2 tank of gas (incase you drop something etc)

You should see my fuel with hotwired pumps then you would know where they are

don't forget the lighter, it's very dark in that trunk if you get locked in.
just kidding
but on a serious note, how can you tell if your fuel pump is bad or not? what are the symtoms?

dude, i was afraid to use my cell to call someone to let me out!!! i thought u was going to blow up! i was in there for like 10 minutes!

if you are not getting fuel pressure, the pump could be bad.
