Ground Control Spring Rates

I have set of ground controls with koni struts on 18" rims and wanted to know if I could get a lower spring rate. I believe they are 450lb/in for the fronts and 315 lb/in for the rears. I spoken to speed merchant and was told that I could get different springs rates. I just called ground control and a representative told me that they won't sell a lower spring rate for this car. I've read that other suspension companies made springs rate close to stock for their coil overs. What other other springs option could I use w/ my ground control?

hello to answer your question concerning other springs you could use with your gc/koni setup, you can use any spring with a 2.5" inner diameter designed for a coil sleeve application. off the top of my head, available is of course eibach, carrera, hypercoil and some others. as you mentioned, the springs that are by default choice for a legend are (front) 8"/2.5"/450lb = height/I.D./rate (rear) 9"/2.5"/315 but honestly im sure there is a reason as to why gc would not sell with a lower rate. however if you do still decide to get something softer, consider getting a taller spring or other alternative to ensure safe resistance of bound travel. of course this may compremise the amount of height adjustability.
