GS -vs- L/LS Spark Plugs?

NGK Iridium IX plugs :: ZFR6FIX-11 (GS) or BKR6EIX-11 (L/LS)

After doing a search on NGK's web, the GS has a different part number and after looking at the 2 different plugs close up, I notice that the ZFR has an extended spark tip(the ceramic and the electrode, around 1-1.5mm taller) -vs- the BKR. The ZFR's are rated for the GS while the BKR's are for the L/LS.

Has anyone used the ZFR's on a non-GS? When talking with the local parts store guy, he thought maybe the longer projected-tip on the GS-rated plugs may help boost performance since it's closer to to the piston head. To give him some credit, he admitted it was just a guess.

Can anyone shed some light?

This is a good question because I plan to take my recently purchased spark plugs that I bought from the dealer from my LS and put them into my GS. I never thought their would be a difference!

I really don't think there would be an advantage to putting the wrong ones in.

I am kind of pissed of now because I spent over $80 on spark plugs from the dealer for my LS which is now out of commision and I now it looks like I cant swap them to my GS.

Anyone want slightly used spark plugs?

When you say L/LS. Are you saying type I?

GS and coupe should be the same then? Type II
